Annually, the Thai Neuroscience Society (TNS) grants awards for exceptional research presentations to TNS members at the TNS Annual Conference, as well as at other esteemed gatherings such as the FAONS and IBRO Conferences.
The competition is inclusive, welcoming students of all levels (Undergraduates, Graduates, Postgraduates, and Research Scholars). Evaluation criteria include scientific rigor, contribution to the field, relevance to the conference theme, and overall presentation quality.
Award recipients will receive public recognition during the TNS Annual Conference’s Award Ceremony.
Winners will be presented with a certificate and a monetary prize to honor their achievements.
Professor Prasop Ratanakorn Award
The Professor Prasop Ratanakorn Award pays tribute to the esteemed Thai Professor of Psychiatry, renowned for groundbreaking contributions to cognitive neuroscience and as the founder of the Prasop Ratanakorn Foundation. This award, generously sponsored by the foundation, acknowledges outstanding achievements in brain research by young scientists presented at the TNS Annual Conference. Recognized work demonstrates originality and groundbreaking advances in nervous system research, excellence in discovery and innovation, and the generation of new knowledge or creative synthesis of existing knowledge. Encompassing fundamental studies to disease-related research, the award aims to foster new concepts, methodologies, and understandings in the field.
Recipients of this award receive a Certificate of Prasop Rattanakorn Ladpli Award and a prize of 4,000 THB.
Professor Roongtam Ladpli Award
The Professor Roongtam Ladpli Award honors the legacy of the distinguished Thai Professor of Neurosurgery, recognized for significant contributions to stroke research and the study of nervous system anatomy. Additionally, he is celebrated as the founder of the Thai Neuroscience Society (TNS). Since 2020, this award has been bestowed upon the top oral/poster presentation across all neuroscience domains at the TNS Annual Conference.
The award includes a Certificate of Professor Roongtam Ladpli Award and a prize of 2,000 THB.
Associate Professor Naipinich Kotchabhakdi Award
The Associate Professor Naipinich Kotchabhakdi Award is bestowed upon early career researchers who have made remarkable scientific advancements in any field of neuroscience. Since 2020, this award has been conferred for the top oral/poster presentation at the TNS Annual Conference.
Recipients of this award receive a Certificate of Associate Professor Naipinich Kotchabhakdi Award and a prize of 2,000 THB.
TNS Best Poster Award
This accolade recognizes the finest posters showcased at the TNS Annual Conference, acknowledging outstanding research, innovation, and presentation skills.
The prize includes a Certificate of Best Poster Presentation and a monetary award of 2,000 THB.
TNS Travel Awards
These awards are offered to young TNS members attending either the Thai Neuroscience Society, FAONS, or IBRO Meetings. Award amounts are adjusted according to the geographical proximity of the meeting to the applicant’s home laboratory. Further information can be found on the meeting webpage.
